I was born and raised here in Boston. In 2009, I graduated from the Certification Program for Substance Abuse Counselors from University of Massachusetts Boston. The following year I passed the Massachusetts State Licensing Exam. In September 2010, I began working on my Bachelors of Science in Human Services at Springfield College in Boston, Massachusetts. My next goal is to go on and earn my Masters in Social Work.
I worked at Pyramid Builders Associates and Roxbury Multi-Service Center to provide in-home clinical support services in Boston as a Therapeutic Mentor, Therapeutic Trainer and Supporter, and Community Support Provider. I also worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Luminosity Behavioral Health Services in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Currently I am an Uplifting Coach where I work in male engagement by providing group and one-on-one support to individuals at Fathers’ Uplift.
I have a strong passion for the work that I do that comes from the obstacles that I have overcome in my own life. I have worked hard to overcome a substance abuse problem, recidivism and self-defeating behavior. Because of my lived experiences I am very passionate about helping to empower others.
