An Open Letter: Standing in Solidarity with Women Everywhere
Dear family,
I want to take a moment to share a deeply personal experience from my twenties—a time that forever changed my perspective on life and loss. I stood at the funeral of a dear colleague, Michael, whose vibrant spirit and contagious smile left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. At that moment, as a young entrepreneur grappling with the weight of mortality, I felt the profound responsibility to honor his legacy. Today, as I reflect on the recent election results, Michael’s memory resurfaces with a renewed intensity. Like many of you, I’m struggling to comprehend our nation’s choices and the far-reaching impacts on the communities and values we hold dear.
In these turbulent times, I encourage you to cherish the memories of those who bring you joy and inspiration. Their love and warmth can be a beacon of strength as we navigate this uncertain landscape together. The road ahead may be fraught with challenges we cannot yet foresee, but remember that you are never alone—we are united as a team and a community.
A thought-provoking question once posed by a friend resonates deeply with me: “Charles, what side of history will you stand on?” Initially, it left me speechless, but it reminded me of Dr. King’s poignant appeal to President Lyndon B. Johnson, urging a commitment to justice and equality for all. As an agency, we stand on the right side of history. Our mission extends beyond our own aspirations; we aim to empower fathers and men across the nation to advocate fiercely for women whose rights are under siege since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. We firmly believe that every woman deserves autonomy over her own body.
Our support also extends to mothers in those same states who face these harsh realities. To those of you with loved ones affected by these decisions, remember—you are not alone in this fight. To the women on our Team, as well as those who support us through volunteering, donations, and encouragement, know that we are united in solidarity and respect for you.
This message is dedicated to all of you—your resilience is our inspiration. I want to take a moment to honor Amber, whose tragic loss this year in Georgia serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need for change. A hospital withheld care due to restrictive laws despite having the means to save her life. Amber’s story must fuel our determination for a better future.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wife and co-founder, Samantha Fils-Daniels. As we both come to terms with the challenging news, I remain hopeful because of the spirit of the women in our lives. Like many of you, Samantha has been a source of strength and support for the men in her life and the fathers we serve. Please know that we, and the men we serve, will reciprocate that love, appreciation, and unconditional support during this critical time in our nation’s journey.
We will persist and will not cease until every woman, no matter where she resides, has the unyielding backing of the men in her life as she faces the challenges surrounding her body and choices.
With deep gratitude and appreciation for each of you,
Dr. Charles C. Daniels, Jr.
